What Messages Are We Hearing?

So the kids and I were excited to watch “Fuller House” on Netflix that just came out today. Why is it okay to say “damn,” “O my God,” drink, party, talk about picturing girls in their underwear as a kid, plus a lot of innuendoes about sex and sexual identity on a family friendly show? Just because those things do happen in the world doesn’t mean a family show can’t have the ability or the integrity to pursue a higher moral standard of living. Are we sure that our kids don’t pick up on this kind of stuff? I believe these shows are desensitizing our kids. How much does it take to shock a child anymore?  The family value part of the show is great, the other stuff; not so much. Why is this the example of real life? Shouldn’t us as parents teach our kids “Whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable-if anything is excellent or praiseworthy think about such things…and the peace of God will be with you?” I believe the world is incapable of saving itself. The only One who can save the world from the downhill spiral it has gotten itself into is Jesus. He even said, “I didn’t come to condemn the world, but to save it.”
